Twice Exceptional Momma: A Work in Progress

28. I have 28 tabs currently open on my Macbook. It's a light day. My Adderall has worn off for the day and I am struggling to maintain focus with all of the background noise in the living room. I have had a different brain for as far as I can recall and hid under the radar for several decades before fully embracing a diagnosis. I was called quirky early on, but, like many people my age, my actions never drew the attention of school administrators, teachers, my parents, or anyone else. I mastered masking my twice-exceptionality in elementary school by just appearing to be highly sensitive. As a 49-year-old, I can only imagine how different my journey might have been if I would have had support for ADHD and anxiety as well as enrichment for my talents. This is one of the main reasons why I advocate so passionately for 2E kids, including my own.

My life is a work in progress. My thoughts are sometimes a bit scattered.

Welcome to a stream-of-conscious blog about my life, the inner workings of my neurodivergent existential crisis, and all things in between.
